DTSS students swarmed the hallways in green today
in celebration of International Earth Day!
Several classes accepted the challenge of reducing their energy
consumption by turning off classroom lights and avoiding use of technology! The immense amount of windows and skylights
present in the school enabled many classes to participate. Also, Student council and Leadership collaborated
to open the courtyard to students for the first time! Students were able
to enjoy complimentary iced green tea in the courtyard if they brought their
own reusable containers, as well as purchase delicious cookies... It sure was a
hit! Five lucky students received free glass water bottles for
participating in DTSS’s Earth Day festivities.
Many also enjoyed eating zucchini-noodles
and green-house greens, the entré featured on today’s raw-food menu at the
cafeteria.
